Thai Remakes Other Asian Countries Drama

Lately, Thai drama world has been remaking a lot of dramas from other Asian countries and from previous popular drama aired in the past from Thailand but I am not disappointed at all. In this post, I am going to list Thai dramas that are remake from other Asian countries. Majority of these drama are from South Korea but you would seem some from Taiwan and Japan. 

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince: Coffee Prince Thai (2012)

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince: Coffee Prince Thai (2012) is a remake of the Korean drama Coffee Prince (2007). Mac Weeradon Wandcharoenporn and Maxine Inthiporn Tamsukhin played the leading role. 

Win is a middle-aged guy from a rich family who has never had to work until his grandmother forces him to run a coffee shop. Nut is a hardworking and tomboyish girl who is often mistaken for a guy. She pretends to be a male to get a job at the coffee shop but Win and Nut gradually begin to develop feelings for each other. 


Autumn in My Heart (2013)

Autumn in My Heart (2013) is a remake of the Korean drama Autumn in My Heart (2000). Tik Jesadaporn Pholdee and Aom Sucharat Manaying plays the leading role. 

Patin and Pitcha grew up as siblings but Pitcha was in fact from a different family as there was a mix up at the hospital where she was born. The switch came to light when Pitcha was involved in a car accident and it was discovered that her blood type was different from her parents. Pitcha's life took a complete turn when the two girls were returned to their respective families. Soon after, Patin's family left for the States and Pitcha was left living in a sordid condition with her family in Thailand. Years after, Patin returned to Thailand and by chance the two former siblings were reunited. 

Full House (2014)

Full House (2014) is a remake of the Korean drama Full House (2004). Mike Pirath Nitipaisankul and Aom Sucharat Manaying plays the leading role. 

Aom is a writer who got swindled out of her house during her trip to Korea. She finds out that her house was sold to Mike and in an attempt to her her possession back, she enters a contract marriage with Mike for one year. Though she lost everything, Aom remains optimistic and takes things in stride. What started out as a business relationship between the two becomes personal as they start to care for each other. 

Kiss Me (2015)

Kiss Me (2015) is a remake of the Japanese drama Itazura na Kiss (1996), Taiwanese drama It Started With a Kiss (2005), Korean drama Playful Kiss (2010), Chinese drama Say that You Love Me (2012), another Japanese drama Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo (2013), with two more following the Thai version is a Japanese movie Mischievous Kiss The Movie: High School (2016) and a Taiwanese drama Miss in Kiss (2016). Mike Pirath Nitipaisankul and Aom Sucharat Manaying plays the leading role. 

Taliw, a cute, lively, and clumsy girl, has had a crush on a popular and genius named Tenten, who is a new students with an IQ of 200. Tenten just returned from Japan with his family. Sometimes Tenten treats her kindly and cares about her, yet, sometimes he teases and embarrasses her in front of all the students in their school. 

I'm Sorry, I Love You (2016)

I'm Sorry, I Love You (2016) is a remake of the Korean drama I'm Sorry, I Love You (2004), a Chinese movie Sorry I Love You (2014) and following the Thai version is the Japanese drama Gomen, Aishiteru (2017). Nike Nitidon Pomsuwan and Punch Workarn Rojjanawat plays the leading roles. 

Guntha was adopted by an Australian family but was abused and left homeless at an early age. One day he come across Tongtha, the coordinator for Jakthep, a famous singer, whom she is secretly in love with. Her fateful encounter with Guntha ends up affecting not only her life but that of her precious Jakthep as well. Because of an accident involving his ex-girlfriend, Guntha is left with three months to live. This leads him to head back to Thailand in search of his biological mother. The discoveries he makes changes his heart from longing to revenge. Even with all this darkness surrounding him, he finds an unexpected source of happiness with someone he didn't expect to love. 

You're My Destiny (2017)

You're My Destiny (2017) is a remake of the Taiwanese drama Fated to Love You (2008) and Korean drama Fated to Love You (2014). Bie Sukrit Wisedkaew and Esther Supreeleela play the leading roles. 

Pawut is the successor to a large company. Wanida is a secretary in a law firm. They both go on the same cruise, with Pawut planning to propose to Kaekai, his girlfriend, and Wanida planning on losing her virginity to her boyfriend. However, Wanida ended up taking cold medicine which made her drowsy and accidentally went to Pawut's hotel room, while he was drugged. They spent the night together. Three months later, Wanida finds out that she is pregnant. 

A Love to Kill (2017)

A Love to Kill (2017) is a remake of the Korean drama A Love to Kill (2005). New Chaiyapil Pupart and View Wannarot Sontichat plays the leading role. 

Puen grew up in a foster home with his elder brother, Mek. After a misunderstanding occurs between Mek and his girlfriend Inthira, an emotionally wounded Mek jumps from a rooftop and falls in to a coma. Driven by anger and thirst for revenge, Puen approaches Inthira as a bodyguard. But as he spends time with her, Puen gets increasingly burdened by the forbidden love he develops. Meanwhile, Inthira - not knowing about her ex's relationship with Puen, nor his intentions to destroy her life - falls in love with him. 

Mia (2018)

Mia (2018) is a remake of the Taiwanese drama My Fierce Wife (2010) that also has a sequel to it titled Aruna (2019). The leading roles are play by Bee Namthip Jongrachatawiboon and Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak

Aruna and Thada are the perfect match who have a beautiful daughter together. Many people are jealous of this happy family. Upon returning from abroad, Aruna's cousin, Kanya, moves in with her family. Things become complicated when Thada gets sexually involved with Kanya. 

Oh My Ghost (2018)

Oh My Ghost (2018) is a remake of the Korean drama Oh My Ghostess (2015). The leading role is play by Pae Arak Amornsupasiri and Noona Neungthida Sopon

Jiew is a modest girl who works at a restaurant washing dishes and is in love with Artit, the chef. She huddles in a cramped little room, doesn't sleep at night, and is always late for work. But she has abig secret: she sees ghosts. And Khaopun, a virgin ghost who doesn't understand why her soul can't go to heaven, doesn't leave Jiew alone. Khaopun is sure that only losing her virginity will help her to ascend to heaven, and therefore she uses Jiew's body to seduce Artit and achieve what she wants. 

My Love From Another Star (2019)

My Love from Another Star (2019) is a remake of the Korean hit drama You Who Came from the Stars (2013). Nadech Kuhimiya and Matt Peeranee Kongthai are playing the leading roles. 

Achira is an alien who landed on Earth 400 years ago. He possesses a near perfect appearance and enhanced physical abilities involving his vision, hearing and speed. Later, he discovers that he has three months left on Earth and that is when he meets Falada. 

My Girl (2019)

My Girl (2019) is a remake of the Korean drama My Girl (2005), Filipino drama My Girl (2008), and Taiwanese drama Rainbow Sweetheart (2011). Esther Supreeleela and Pae Arak Amornsupasiri play the leading roles. 

Linlin takes on all kinds of odd jobs to pay off her father's debts. Purith's grandfather is severely ill and has been searching for his estranged daughter and granddaughter in vain. Purith asks Linlin to act as his missing cousin to fulfill his grandfather's last wishes while he searches for the real cousin. She agrees and soon they start developing feelings fro each other. Mark, Pu's playboy relative is smitten by Linlin while Penny, Pu' ex-fiance tries to win him back. 

Secret Garden (2019)

Secret Garden (2019) is a remake of the Korean hit drama Secret Garden (2010). The leading roles are play by Ananda Everingham and Fern Pimchanok Leuwisedpaiboon

Thanat is an arrogant and eccentric CEO who maintains the image of seeming perfection and Veena is a poor and humble stunt woman whose beauty and body are the object of envy amongst top actresses. Their accidental meeting, when Thanat mistakes Veena for an actress, marks the beginning of a tense, bickering relationship, through which Thanat tries to hide a growing attraction to Veena that both confuses and disturbs him. To complicate matters further, a strange sequence of events results in them swapping bodies. 

In Time With You (2019)

In Time With You (2019) is a remake of the Taiwanese drama In Time With You (2011). The leading roles are played by Mo Monchanok Saengchaipiangpen and Pae Arak Amornsupasiri

On her 30th birthday, Pimchanok received an email on "the symptoms of premature aging" from Thanapon, her best friend of 14 years. Unable to accept that Thanapon is like a fine wine that will get better with age and she is like a grape that will dry into a raisin as years go by, she made a bet with Thanpon to see who will get married first before they turn 35. As she looked around for a potential husband, she discovered that she was surrounded by unacceptable candidates, like gay assistant or cheating ex-boyfriend. The only man who could love her despite her ill temper and stubbornness is her best friend. The only problem was that they both swore that they were not or will ever be romantically attracted to each other. 

Princess Hours (2017)

Princess Hours (2017) is a remake of the Korean drama Goong (2006). Tao Sattaphong Phiangphor and Ungsumalin Sirapatsakmetha plays the leading roles. 

The plot takes place in Bhutin, a fictitious country. Crown Prince In and Kaning get married due to a promise between both of their families. Before getting married to Kaning, Prince In had a close friend who is close enough to be called his 'girlfriend' named Minnie. He has asked Minnie for her hand in marriage but Minnie rejected him. Minnie now regrets doing so, and want Prince In back. Also, the former Crown Princess also wants the throne back for her son, Prince In's cousin. But as Prince In and Kaning spend time together every day they begin to understand each other more and develop feelings for each other. 


The Frog Prince (2019)

The Frog Prince (2019) is a remake of the Taiwanese drama Prince Turns to Frog (2005). The leading roles are play by View Wannarot Sontichai and Son Yuke Songpaisarn


Boss and Me (2019)


Boss & Me (2019) is a remake of the Chinese drama Boss & Me (2014). Aom Sucharat Manaying and Push Puttichai Kasetsin are playing the lead roles. 

Another Miss Oh (2019)


Another Miss Oh (2019) is a remake of the Korean drama Another Miss Oh (2016). 

Classic Again (2019)


Classic Again (2019) is a remake of the Korean hit romance drama Classic (2003). 

Voice (2019)

Voice (2019) is a remake of the Korean drama Voice (2017).

Tunnel (2019)

Tunnel (2019) is a remake of the Korean drama Tunnel.
